Matthew Chennells, PhD

Biography

Matt leads the social and political research arm at Focaldata. Focaldata is a market research and analytics company working with foundations, charities, campaign organizations and political parties to better understand society and propose solutions to pressing challenges we face. Matt holds a PhD in Philosophy and a Masters in Behavioural and Economic Science from the University of Warwick, as well as a Masters in Economics from the University of Cape Town. His recent research focused on the role of interpersonal trust and commitment in igniting and sustaining collective intention and action. Prior to working in the UK, he worked as a development economist on projects across southern Africa.
