Andrew Loza

Biography

Andrew Loza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science at Yale University and a physician with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He earned a PhD in biophysics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MD from Yale University. After completing residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics, he completed a clinical informatics fellowship and a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale and the VA. His research develops deep learning models of longitudinal clinical data for dynamic risk prediction and treatment effect estimation. His work focuses on integrating diverse data modalities into clinical foundation models and developing methods for causal inference using those models.
