
Sepideh “Sepi” F. Varon is the VP, Head of US Evidence Generation at Novartis, where she leads a team of talented researchers in developing innovative and high-quality research across multiple research types including but not limited to Real-World Evidence (RWE), Local Interventional Studies [Phase 3B/4], Managed Access Programs (MAPs), Investigator Initiated Studies (IITs) and Health Economic & Outcomes Research (HEOR). In this capacity, Sepi is responsible for the leaders/hip across the following US Novartis teams: Real World Evidence, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Clinical Sciences & Trial Acceleration, and Evidence Generation & Medical Excellence.
Sepi is a seasoned researcher and has published nearly 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has lectured at multiple universities including USC, University of California Irvine, Chapman University and the University of Washington (UW). In addition, she is an Affiliate Professor at UW, where she has been a preceptor or mentored over 25 fellows / PhD students.
She has also served in the following leadership capacities: City of Hope President’s Advisory Board, Chapman University Dean’s Advisory Board, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Advisory Board, UCI Center for Health Care Management and Policy Advisory Board, and Executive Board Member TVT Community Day School.
Sepi has 25 years of rich industry experience, having held roles of increasing responsibility at AbbVie, Allergan, Amgen and Mercer Consulting. Sepi holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a PhD in Health Services Research from UCLA and an MPH from Boston University.
Sepi resides in Southern California with her husband and two boys.
